Services

June 10, 2008

Strategy Development:
At With A Bullet our focus is on the artist – building their careers and taking them to the next level. When you are in the market for radio promotion services, contact us and tell us about your project. After our initial discussion we will take the time to make a proper assessment of potential radio targets/formats based on your genre, radio history if any, and by analyzing current radio playlists and charts. We will present you with a well thought out strategy/action plan that you can use to help decide whether or not you wish to retain our services.

Mainstream Radio:
In Canada there are six main formats of commercial radio stations. AC (Adult Contemporary), Hot AC, CHR (Top 40), Country, Rock, and Modern Rock. There are also a handful of Jazz and Urban stations. Based on our agreed upon strategy, your single will be worked to the appropriate format(s) for a predetermined length of time. On average a single takes approximately three months to run its course, however there are many exceptions to this (for example a brand new AC artist may take 6+ months to develop.) While results cannot be guaranteed, we always do our best to ensure that you receive the maximum possible exposure for your project and that you will be properly represented to the stations and in their music meetings. With A Bullet will provide you with station by station feedback as part of our weekly reporting.

Campus / CBC / Satellite Radio:
These outlets can be handled as a separate package or in combination with mainstream radio depending on your project’s needs. A special note: Campus, CBC, and Satellite radio stations require full albums to be sent (instead of a single) and your progress therefore is tracked by album as well. Each campus station publishes it’s own chart plus there are two national Top 50 campus charts (Ear Shot and Chart Attack) that compile their data from a range of reporting stations.

Additional Opportunities:
With A Bullet will look for any opportunities to help solidify the relationship between the artist and the station once the connection has been made. After a station adds your song our focus shifts to maximizing spin counts, increasing rotation, and seeking out additional avenues to reinforce artist-to-song recognition. These avenues include pitching the artist for special station events, opportunities with the artist on the station website, interviews and on-air performances, or promotional contest and giveaway opportunities.

Tracking:
Singles and albums will be tracked through weekly calls, emails, and in-person visits (where possible) to all selected stations highlighting the key points of the project – other adds/features at radio, artist activity updates, news, touring, relevant press, and sales information.

Reporting:
Weekly reports will be sent to you on Fridays with full updates on Radio Station feedback, adds and features, chart positions, current spin counts, and potential opportunities regarding interviews, contesting, online content placement, live performances etc.

the priddle concern

June 9, 2008

Bill Priddle Live
Artist Bio:
the priddle concern is the latest project from Toronto songwriter Bill Priddle. Best known for co-founding the Toronto based band treble charger in 1992 as a principal singer- songwriter, his song “Red” from treble charger’s debut album “NC17″ went on to be named the #18 Canadian Single of All Time in Chart Magazine’s Great Music Poll of 1996. The song “Morale” from the band’s sophomore self titled album rose to #19 on the Canadian rock radio charts earning the band a Juno nomination for best alternative album in the process. The bands 1997 major label debut “Maybe It’s Me” included the Priddle written single “Ever She Flows” and went gold in Canada receiving a Juno nomination for best Rock Album in the process. The band recorded and released 2 more albums (“Wide Awake Bored” in 2000 and “Detox” in 2002) earning them another 3 Juno nominations, gold and platinum selling status and a top-ten radio hit for Priddle’s co-written song “American Psycho”. After touring to support “Detox”, Bill left the band to concentrate on a solo career and the priddle concern was born”

Radio Strategy:
The focus with lead-off single “Care About You” was to target mainstream Rock stations and to that end the song has received play at many Rock stations across the country. We have also set up interviews with FM 96 London, K106 Sarnia, CHOM Montreal, 102.1 The Edge Toronto, Sirius Iceberg 95 TakeOver show, as well as on-air performances at XM Radio and 102.1 The Edge’s Friday Night Live show.

Press Quotes:
“The Priddle Concern’s self-titled album is one of the most touching and human albums I’ve heard in a while. There’s a strong feeling of alienation, disillusionment and suffering that runs through it and makes it one of those records that’s more than a record. Priddle’s melodies are very strong but his lyrics are what really make the songs special.” torontoindie.com Read the rest here.

“…Singer-songwriter Bill Priddle is obviously a man of many faces. On the priddle concern’s debut, he carefully weaves a melodic tapestry that borrows as much from classic rock as it does from folk and pop, channelling the Beatles, Eagles, Guided By Voices and Pernice Brothers. The end result feels light and effortless, thanks to the help of a cross-section of Broken Social Scene’s crew that includes Amy Millan (who provides beautiful backing vocals on Back Around) as well as Brendan Canning and Justin Peroff. There is true craftsmanship within each of Priddle’s delicate pop melodies…” – Edmonton Journal

SLAVE To The SQUAREwave

June 1, 2008

Slave To The Squarewave
Artist Bio:
Picture Devo. Now picture Devo, but with David Bowie as the singer. Now picture Devo with Bowie, but
they’re all sporting Talking Heads suits and influences. Now picture a squarehead…and you might just begin to get the feel for the music of Toronto’s SLAVE to the SQUAREwave. Brought together in 1999 at a rave, where singer Colin Troy and keyboardist Rob Stuart were each playing solo sets, SLAVE to the SQUAREwave was born out of a mutual admiration for the bands mentioned above…… a penchant for fat, funky bass lines…. that infectious retro dance beat and a flare for the dramatic on stage. Made complete through the addition of Andrew Starr (guitar) and Doug Lea (drums), mere words cannot describe the experience of their energetic live shows, where Troy easily takes the title of the most riveting front man to emerge in recent years!

Radio Strategy:
New single “New York’s A Go-Go” has just been serviced to CHR and Hot AC Radio stations nation wide. We have helped to secure a Live 88.5 Ottawa “Live Lounge” showcase for the artist, and will be targeting interviews and additional promo opportunities over the course of the campaign.

Press Quote:
“The music industry has completely forgotten that people want to be entertained and that’s what SLAVE to the SQUAREwave does.” - Montreal Music Scene
